We believe every child's story matters. Our mission is to create spaces where children can express themselves through literacy, build confidence, and discover the power of their voice.
PROGRAMS AND WHAT WE DO
Reading development
Builds strong foundational reading skills through guided practice, engaging stories,and personalized support. This program helps children improve comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency while developing lifelong love for reading and learning.
Creative writing workshops
Encourages children to express their thoughts, ideas, and emotions through writing. Students develop creativity, storytelling skills, and confidence in their voice, while learning structure, imagination, and self expression in a fun and supportive environment.
Story telling/journaling & confidence building
Helps children find their voice by sharing their stories in a safe, encouraging space. This program strengthens communication skills, boosts self-esteem, and empowers kids to speak with confidence in everyday life.
Community literacy events
Brings families, volunteers, and communities together through interactive reading and writing experiences. These events promote literacy, connection, and a shared commitment to supporting children's growth both academically and socially.
How you can help
Sponsor a child
Make a direct impact on one child's journey. Sponsoring a child gives them access to our programs, resources, and support they need to grow as a reader and a writer. You're not just giving- you're investing in their future and helping them believe in their voice. It only costs $50 to sponsor one child to take part in the first 6 week course.
Get involved
Join us as a volunteer, partner or supporter. Whether you give your time or resources, you help create a safe and inspiring space where children can learn, express themselves, and thrive. Follow us on social media for events and come out and support a young writer or reader who is presenting their work!

Hi! My name is Michelle. Our mission at My Story Literacy Foundation is to inspire confidence, creativity, and love for learning by helping children strengthen their reading and writing skills. We believe that every child's story matters, and through literacy, we create safe spaces where students can grow, express themselves and feel empowered to share their voices in the world.
